WUI Community Meting

PUBLIC MEETING: The City and County of Broomfield will host state Wildfire Resiliency Code Board Administrator Carolyn Larsen to discuss with Wilcox and other residents the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Map and the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code (CWRC).

WUI Community Meeting

2-3 pm, Monday, July 21, Council Conference Room

City and County Building, 1 DesCombes Drive

The meeting will be recorded and be posted online for those unable to attend in person.

Larsen will present on:

--The background and authority of the WRCB;

--The data and methodology behind the WUI map;

--The purpose and scope of the new state code;

--What it means for local jurisdictions and next steps.

This is an opportunity to hear directly from the agencies involved and to have your questions answered in a public and recorded format.

Broomfield County Central Committee Meeting

Guest Speaker Kathleen Chandler

Kathleen Chandler is the Director of the Independence Institute’s Citizen Involvement Project. She is also a political consultant and professional volunteer for conservative issues and candidates. She has a degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has been involved in politics for many years.

In the fall of 2024, Kathleen was elected to the Regional Transportation District (RTD) for District F, encompassing most of Aurora, CO. This billion-dollar agency oversees the eight-county metro area's light rail and bus services. This is a four-year term.

As Kathleen continues to use her influence to further fiscal sanity, she also wants to see CO become CO again. She loves the beauty of God’s creation as displayed in the diversity of Colorado’s environment. Kathleen is a 4th generation Colorado native and has lived in the Denver area since 1993. She is married with two sons and two grandchildren.
